The German reality show “Ich bin ein Star – Holt mich hier raus!” (I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!) is a popular television show that has been airing since 2004. The show follows a group of celebrities as they take part in a series of challenges and tasks in the jungle of Australia. The latest season, Season 16, aired in January 2021 and featured a new set of celebrities competing for the title of “King/Queen of the Jungle”.
Concept
The show follows the same basic concept as the original British version of the show, where celebrities are sent to the jungle and must compete in various tasks and challenges in order to win food, luxury items, and other rewards. The celebrities are then voted off by the public until only one remains, who is crowned the “King/Queen of the Jungle”.

The participants of Season 16 included: singer Marry; actor and model Daniel Küblböck; former Big Brother contestant Mike Shiva; singer and presenter Mola Adebisi; actress and presenter Sarah Knappik; YouTube personality Shirin David; YouTube personality Palina Rojinski; and actor and presenter Jochen Schropp.
Challenges
The celebrities faced a variety of challenges during the show, including physical tasks such as the “Jungle Challenge”, where the celebrities had to climb a rope ladder and traverse a rope bridge; the “Buggy Challenge”, where the celebrities had to drive a buggy through an obstacle course; and the “Tunnel Challenge”, where the celebrities had to crawl through a dark and narrow tunnel. The celebrities also faced mental challenges, such as the “Truth or Dare Challenge”, where the celebrities had to answer questions about themselves or take part in a dare.
Winner
The winner of Season 16 was YouTube personality Shirin David, who was crowned the “Queen of the Jungle”. She was presented with a trophy and a cash prize of €50,000.
